Liverpool transfer news as $108m Real Madrid star and player Jürgen Klopp loves cause 'interest'

The latest Liverpool transfer news as a bid is reportedly being weighed up for a Real Madrid star. A player Jürgen Klopp loves could also be eyed as a Mohamed Salah heir.

Liverpool returns to action tomorrow after the latest international break as it welcomes Brighton to Anfield. In what are Jürgen Klopp's final weeks as boss, the German will want to leave in the best possible way, meaning another trophy — or two — in Liverpool's cabinet.

With Michael Edwards confirmed as FSG's new CEO of football and Richard Hughes set to start as the club's new sporting director in June, there are many moving parts behind the scenes. As of yet, no new manager has been named and, with the news that Xabi Alonso has decided to stay in Leverkusen for at least another season, the search for a Klopp replacement goes on.

Despite the lack of a new manager, with Edwards playing a role again and Hughes incoming, Liverpool can begin to identify transfer targets for next season. As this season reaches its climax, the transfer rumor mill will begin to intensify and then kick into high gear come the beginning of July.

Rodrygo (Real Madrid)

This could be the summer where Liverpool lets go of Mohamed Salah. Saudi Arabia made an attempt to sign Salah last summer but was rejected by the Reds. It remains to be seen whether Liverpool will refuse another attempt a year on.

Should Salah depart, then a potential replacement could be Real Madrid forward Rodrygo. The Brazilian has been an integral part of Carlo Ancelotti side over the last couple of seasons, and Spanish source Fichajes states that Liverpool could make a bid to sign the player this summer. However, Fichajes reports that Florentino Perez wouldn't accept anything less than $108m (£85m/€100m) for the 23-year-old.
