Arsenal make huge Benjamin Sesko transfer decision as two offers made amid £55m wait

Latest Arsenal transfer news with a double Benjamin Sesko update coming to light as Mikel Arteta and Edu prepare for the summer window

RB Leipzig star Benjamin Sesko is one of Arsenal's summer transfer targets with numerous updates emerging on his future. The Slovenia international has only been at Leipzig for 12 months but he has again shown his goal-scoring abilities which has understandably alerted several Premier League clubs.

Like the Gunners, Manchester United and Chelsea are interested in the 20-year-old with a departure from Germany ahead of the 2024/25 season a real possibility. With that in mind, Leipzig have made a huge decision in their hopes of keeping Sesko by offering him a new contract that would at least keep him at the club until next summer.

However, those at Emirates Stadium appear to be pushing hard for his arrival with Sesko at the top of Arsenal's striker transfer wish list, according to the Mirror. Also in the report, it is said the Gunners have already made overtures and inroads into the player’s camp and his agent knows they want him.

Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano could not explicitly confirm Arsenal's Sesko decision however he did reveal that Sesko has already turned down two moves elsewhere. In his Thursday Daily Briefing, Romano wrote: "Staying with Arsenal, I’m also aware that there have been new reports about Benjamin Sesko becoming their top target up front.

"However, I have no substantial update on Sesko yet. What I can say is that he rejected two proposals from Saudi, while he also has a proposal to sign a new deal with a salary increase at RB Leipzig.

"I keep mentioning Chelsea, Arsenal and Man United as clubs interested from the Premier League, but it all depends on the player decision now. I have no major update at the time of writing, but will keep you posted when I do." The release clause in Sesko's contract is said to be worth €65million (£55m) with his current deal set to expire in 2028

If Sesko does agree to new terms it is unlikely that clause will remain however a gentleman's agreement could certainly be in place which would allow him to depart for a considerable fee the following summer.
