Bruno Guimaraes signs, Partey out, Kimmich in - Dream Arsenal midfield after £105m transfers

Arsenal could complete their dream midfield for Mikel Arteta with a double deal worth more than £100million offset by the sale of Thomas Partey this summer

Arsenal have several areas in their team they need to strengthen this summer but the midfield has taken a considerable focus with some upheaval having happened already and the potential for more to take place. Mohamed Elneny has already left the squad with the expiration of his contract, and there is hope that Ethan Nwaneri could be promoted to more senior minutes next season.

Although understands that the chances of a marquee move this summer in any position remain slim, there is always scope that the Gunners could pounce on any opportunities that arise. The arrival of Declan Rice last summer provided a far more solid foundation for competitive battles in the campaign, which saw Arsenal finish only two points behind rivals Manchester City.

With that in mind takes a look at what a dream scenario for the midfield could be. Rice and Martin Odegaard are on the lookout for their ideal partner to complete Mikel Arteta's middle third, and there remains plenty of time left to find that special someone.

Bruno Guimaraes

A £100million release clause stands between Arsenal and the acquisition of dream central midfield target Bruno Guimaraes. Newcastle United are adamant that they do not want to lose the Brazilian international despite regressing from their Champions League qualifying campaign in 2022/23; without European football whatsoever for 2024/25, Guimaraes could be tempted to a switch which grants him a chance on the biggest stage.
Arsenal have been keen on the midfielder since his playing days in his homeland, and that interest persisted through to his time in France with Lyon. Should Guimaraes push for a move, there is hope he might be available around the £80million mark but this again could simply be fantasy land stuff.

Thomas Partey out

One way that Arsenal have room to potentially bring in two competitive central midfield options whilst making room for some youth promotion is with a considerable exit. Thomas Partey missed the majority of last season with an injury which required surgery to fix.
