Arsenal 0-0 Chelsea

Image
Arsenal 0-0 Chelsea 8 min:  Oh dear! Sanchez gifts the ball straight to Martinelli but makes amends by keeping out the Brazilian’s effort and manages to secure the ball with Trossard lurking. 1 MINUTE AGO Arsenal 0-0 Chelsea 7 min:  Meanwhile, for Chelsea, Sancho has started on the right and we are used to seeing him out on the left. 2 MINUTES AGO Arsenal 0-0 Chelsea 6 min:  It is interesting that Martinelli has started on the right of Arsenal’s attack this afternoon. We are so used to seeing the Brazilian operating on the opposite flank.

Liverpool 0-1 PSG (Agg 1-1) HALF TIME!

Image
Liverpool 0-1 PSG (Agg 1-1 ) "This has been high level football, let's be clear.  "Liverpool have played with energy but the final touch has been lacking. PSG have the goal and they too will feel they could have done more had they been a little more precise where it mattered. "As it stands, we are bound for extra-time but the scoring here is surely not even close to being over." Liverpool 0-1 PSG (Agg 1-1) HALF TIME!  And breathe! What a half.  The tempo of this match has been unbelievable. PSG levelled against the run of play after Liverpool flew out of the blocks with Salah missing a big chance.  Dembele equalised and PSG went on to have the better chances. Alisson saved from Barcola while Dembele and Kvaratskhelia went close.  More please!

Image
Alexander Isak stance on Arsenal move revealed as Gunners plan HUGE offer Arsenal could make a huge offer for Alexander Isak, PaperTalk understands, as we reveal the Newcastle United striker’s stance on a potential move to the Emirates Stadium as the Gunners prepare for an “unprecedented” summer spending. Isak is one of the finest strikers in the Premier League and has been in brilliant form for Newcastle this season. The Sweden international striker has scored 22 goals and given five assists in 32 matches in all competitions for the Magpies, who are just two points off the final Champions League spot in the Premier League table. Sources have told PaperTalk that Isak is Arsenal’s top striker target in the summer transfer window. While Arsenal have been working on multiple targets and are well placed to sign Slovenia international striker Benjamin Sesko from RB Leipzig in the summer transfer window, it is Isak that manager Mikel Arteta wants the most. HT:Liverpool 0-1 Southampton

Image
Liverpool 0-1 Southampton HT:  The shock of the season, perhaps in Premier League history, is on the cards here! This isn't a fluke either. Southampton have defended their box well and attacked cutely when given the chance. The goal was a mix-up between Alisson and Van Dijk but Saints had men there to take advantage to silence Anfield. Nunez has been doing Nunez things, missing chances and causing chaos. He was fortunate not to be in big trouble for kicking out at Walker-Peters - just a yellow card

Arsenal XI vs Manchester United: Predicted lineup, confirmed team news and injury latest for Premier League Gunners free of fresh injury concerns for trip to Old Trafford MARTIN ODEGAARD WILL LEAD THE GUNNERS OUT AT OLD TRAFFORD Mikel Arteta could name an unchanged team for Arsenal’s trip to Manchester United after the Gunners thumped PSV Eindhoven on Wednesday. Arsenal were 7-1 winners against PSV, becoming the first team in the Champions League history to score seven goals in away knockout match. Arteta may look to rest players for the second leg of the last-16 tie next week, but he will go strong at Old Trafford on Sunday. The Spaniard could name an unchanged side as Arsenal have no fresh injury concerns from their win on Wednesday. If Arteta is to make changes, then defence would be the most likely place for him to do so. Riccardo Calafiori impressed off the bench against PSV and could come into the team at left-back over Myles Lewis-Skelly. Ben White is also yet to st...

Image
Arsenal 'ready to move' for £25m Juventus star in cut-price summer transfer Dusan Vlahovic has been subject to interest from Arsenal for some time - but could he now be finally making his move to north London? Arsenal are planning to make their move to sign Juventus forward Dusan Vlahovic in a cut-price £25million deal, as Mikel Arteta tries to add some much-needed firepower to his front line. The 25-year-old has been long linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium. The Gunners showed interest before he joined Juventus from Fiorentina in January 2022. At that time, Vlahovic was at the peak of his powers, having scored 21 goals in 40 matches in 2020/21 before adding 20 in 24 at the start of the following season. However, Arsenal failed to get a deal over the line for Vlahovic and he ended up moving to Juventus for £58m plus add-ons. Since his blockbuster switch to Turin, Vlahovic has not quite hit the same form. The Serbian international recorded his prolific seas...

GOAL RULED OUT!!! PSG 0-0 Liverpool

Image
GOAL RULED OUT!!! PSG 0-0 Liverpool The margins go Liverpool's way. PSG are all over them but Kvaratskhelia's effort has been chalked off for an offside. Liverpool just about pushed up enough as the Georgian received it off the right. It was a stunning finish to find the far corner but it doesn't count. His heel was offside. So so unlucky.

GOAL! PSV 0-2 Arsenal (Nwaneri, 21)

Image
GOAL! PSV 0-2 Arsenal (Nwaneri, 21) WOW. IT'S TWO. The Gunners take control! It's a goal made from the Arsenal academy. Lewis-Skelly assists Nwaneri. It's another smart move down the left. Trossard finds Lewis-Skelly this time in the penalty box and he stands up his defender, then pulls a cross back across the box. Nwaneri is there to squeeze is at the near post. Arsenal's youngest ever Champions League knockout starter makes his mark!

KICK OFF! PSV 0-0 Arsenal

Image
KICK OFF! PSV 0-0 Arsenal 1:  AND WE'RE OFF!  We're underway in Eindhoven!  And it's do or die for Arsenal now in terms of the Champions League - and possibly their season. It's the Gunners who get us underway in this last 16 first leg... PSV 0-0 Arsenal 5: Saibari gets free of the Arsenal midfield and it looks like a promising attack for the hosts. He finds Lang through the lines but the winger's pass to Perisic is too easy for Saliba to cut out. PSV 0-0 Arsenal 6:  CLOSE!  Nwaneri, stop that! The Arsenal winger produces a lovely cross towards the back post which has PSV defenders backpedaling.  But there's no-one there to head home. Gabriel gets on the end of the cross but can only put it back across goal.  Sums up Arsenal's attacking form at the moment.

Arsenal XI vs PSV: Predicted lineup, confirmed team news, injury latest for Champions League today Gunners boosted by the return of a key player for Champions League last-16 first leg Mikel Arteta will tonight be tempted to start Mikel Merino as Arsenal’s No9 for the third game in a row as they face PSV Eindhoven in a crunch Champions League test. Arsenal have been hit hard by injuries in attack and are currently without four forwards. Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli are due back in action next month, while Gabriel Jesus and Kai Havertz are out for the rest of the season. The lack of options has forced Mikel Arteta to use Merino as an emergency focal point of the attack and the midfielder could start there again in Eindhoven. Merino would likely be flanked by Ethan Nwaneri and Leandro Trossard, who have also started the last two games. Nwaneri came off before the end of last week’s 0-0 draw at Nottingham Forest, but Arteta confirmed afte...

The forward was expected to be fit having returned from a knock picked up against Everton for cameo appearances against Manchester City and then Newcastle. However, Gakpo did not join his team-mates for the opening training session on Tuesday afternoon. Reds manager Arne Slot will provide an update on the striker's fitness at his pre-match press conference at 6.30pm UK time. In Gakpo's absence, Luis Diaz will likely be asked to lead the line against PSG with Diogo Jota drafted in to play on the flank. The Premier League title looks to be beyond the Gunners after dropped points against West Ham and Nottingham Forest, with Mikel Arteta’s side now 13 points behind Liverpool. It leaves the Champions League as effectively Arsenal’s only hope of ending the season with some silverware, though it is a daunting task lying in wait. Should the Gunners, lacking in confidence and depleted in attack, find a way past PSV, they will face either Real Madrid or Atletico Madrid in the quarter-finals, wit...

Arsenal take immediate action to STOP William Saliba from joining Real Madrid

Image
Arsenal take immediate action to STOP William Saliba from joining Real Madrid Arsenal have hatched a plan to stop William Saliba from leaving for Real Madrid, with a report revealing how much the Gunners are willing to pay the central defender, as Los Blancos are said to be willing to offer £115.5million for a Germany international star. Saliba has established himself as one of the best defenders in the Premier League and is one of the first names on the Arsenal teamsheet. One of the major reasons why the Gunners have become regular challengers for the league title is because of the France international’s formidable partnership with Gabriel at the heart of Mikel Arteta’s team. With Eder Militao and David Alaba having injury problems and Antonio Rudiger in his 30s, Madrid are on the hunt for a new centre-back and have identified Saliba as “an absolute priority”. There have been reports that Madrid have already been in contact with Saliba’s entourage and are wi...
