Arsenal need to lift the mood as they travel to face PSV in the first leg of their Champions League last-16 tie.

The Premier League title looks to be beyond the Gunners after dropped points against West Ham and Nottingham Forest, with Mikel Arteta’s side now 13 points behind Liverpool.

It leaves the Champions League as effectively Arsenal’s only hope of ending the season with some silverware, though it is a daunting task lying in wait.

Should the Gunners, lacking in confidence and depleted in attack, find a way past PSV, they will face either Real Madrid or Atletico Madrid in the quarter-finals, with Liverpool and PSG also on the same side of the draw.

PSV finished 14th in the league phase of this competition, before edging past Juventus in the knockout round play-off.
