Gunners bid to delay Liverpool title party as they return to action after Bernabeu heroics
Ipswich vs Arsenal LIVE
After the high of Madrid on Wednesday, Arsenal return to Premier League action when they play Ipswich at Portman Road. The Champions League is clearly the priority for the Gunners from here on in but Mikel Arteta will want to keep momentum going before the first leg of their semi-final against Paris Saint-Germain in two weeks’ time.
Defeat for Arsenal against Ipswich could see Liverpool crowned champions later this afternoon if Arne Slot’s leaders then go on and beat Leicester. Arteta will want to delay the Liverpool title party but, after the herculean shift his side put in at the Bernabeu in midweek, he could rest some key players like Bukayo Saka and Declan Rice.
Ipswich look doomed to the Championship but their relegation can no longer be confirmed this weekend after West Ham only drew with Southampton yesterday. Follow the game LIVE below with our dedicated match blog, featuring expert insight and analysis from Simon Collings at Portman Road.

Arteta makes Liverpool title vow
Mikel Arteta has insisted Arsenal will not allow Liverpool the opportunity to be crowned Premier League champions this afternoon.
Liverpool will claim the title with five matches remaining if Arsenal lose against Ipswich at Portman Road and they see off Leicester at the King Power Stadium.
But Arteta said: "We will make sure that we win the game against Ipswich, and that (Liverpool winning the league) doesn't happen."
Ipswich vs Arsenal stats
- Ipswich have never won in 11 previous Premier League meetings with Arsenal (D2 L9)
- Arsenal will become the first team to play a league game on Easter Sunday in three consecutive years following a 2-2 draw with Liverpool in 2023 and 0-0 draw with Manchester City in 2024 (Liverpool will also match this later today)
- Arsenal have won each of their last 10 Premier League games against teams starting the day in the relegation zone by an aggregate score of 30-2. Their last defeat against a side in the bottom three came away at Everton in February 2023
- Bukayo Saka has had a hand in 15 goals in his last 16 Premier League games against newly promoted sides (7 goals, 8 assists), including three goals and five assists in his last six
Head to head history and results
Ipswich wins: 18
Draws: 11
Arsenal wins: 31
Prediction
Ipswich need to come out the traps and test Arsenal and Liam Delay is more than capable of doing that.
However, that will play right into Arsenal's hands and they should have little trouble breaking through a leaky defence.
This could be an entertaining clash to kick off the day.
Arsenal to win, 3-1.
Arsenal team news
Declan Rice and Bukayo Saka are among those who could be rested, as Mikel Arteta looks to manage minutes before the first leg against Paris Saint-Germain in two weeks’ time.
Ben White could come in at right-back in place of Jurrien Timber and Kieran Tierney could come in on the other flank in place of Myles Lewis-Skelly.
Arsenal will be without Jorginho (ribs) and Riccardo Calafiori (knee).
Ipswich team news
Jaden Philogene is expected to miss the rest of the season due to a knee injury.
Liam Delap has been struggling with a rib injury and will be assessed, while Omari Hutchinson and Kalvin Phillips remain out.
