Arsenal finally get Bryan Mbeumo transfer green light as Brentford stance made clear

Latest Arsenal transfer news with a major update on Bryan Mbeumo coming to light ahead of the summer window

Arsenal transfer target Bryan Mbeumo could leave Brentford in the summer transfer window

Arsenal's chances of signing Bryan Mbeumo in the summer transfer window look to have increased following an honest admission from Brentford boss Thomas Frank.

The Gunners have been linked with Mbeumo for a number of trading periods while Newcastle and Liverpool also look to be interested in acquiring his signature.

Having scored 18 Premier League goals this season, it is no surprise his stocks are high and Frank has admitted he would love to see him hit a tally of 20.

"I really hope so, because, again, that would be fantastic for him and fantastic for us," he admitted before Brentford travel to Nottingham Forest on Thursday evening. “I think he will. I am comfortable he will reach the goal. But he needs to do it. We need to do it.”

Asked about how his asking price could increase by doing that, he said: "I think it’s pretty high, no matter what, if I’m honest. But, as you know, he’s very happy here at Brentford."

While admitting that, the Bees boss has not ruled out the possibility of the Cameroon international being sold.

“If the right price - and that’s going to be expensive - is coming, then I’m sure the club will be open to it,” Frank told Sky Sports.

“I’ve said many times: we are a selling club. But at the same time we have to reinforce that there are 10 clubs in the world who aren’t selling clubs.”

“I lost Neal Maupay, Ollie Watkins and Ivan Toney as three key strikers that were 25 goals plus. Every season we replace the goals with other players so I am confident that we can do it again.”

Given his stellar campaign, this is absolutely the best time for Brentford to sell especially as his contract expires in the summer of 2026. Obtaining a sizeable fee for his departure will still be possible despite that, but there is something that interested parties should be wary of.

During the month of January, Mbeumo could end up missing as many as ten games as he will likely be playing for Cameroon at AFCON.
