Arsenal are unquestionably in need of a marquee summer transfer window with Mikel Arteta and Andrea Berta likely to sanction numerous transfers.

Viktor Gyokeres, Alexander Isak, Nico Williams, Bryan Mbeumo and Benjamin Sesko are just a few big names to have been linked with a move to Emirates Stadium. An addition in central midfield is also on the cards with Martin Zubimendi joining from Real Sociedad expected to occur.

To afford so many big incomings, green-lighting exits may also be required with Oleksandr Zinchenko, Jakub Kiwior and Fabio Vieira players that could leave. Kieran Tierney and Jorginho meanwhile, look set to depart on free transfers.

With all of that being said, football.london has taken a closer look at two big Arsenal transfer rumours currently circulating.

Sesko release clause twist

RB Leipizg's Sesko is one of the many striker transfer options for Arsenal. The Slovenian is likely one of the top three names on the club's shortlist alongside Isak and Gyokeres. While the latter could be considered the cheapest option, with the Newcastle star as the most expensive, Sesko appears to be somewhere in the middle.

According to Sky Sports Germany's Florian Plettenberg, the 21-year-old's release clause now stands at £68million (€80m) due to his performances, but it has also been claimed he could be sold for a lower fee if a suitable offer arrives.

football.london says: Despite the fact he scored his 21st goal of the season against Bayern Munich this past weekend, Arsenal a better off looking elsewhere for a new forward.

Gyokeres should still be the superior option with his staggering goal-record proof of his ability while Sesko continues to show that elements of his game are raw. He would no doubt be a good buy for the Gunners in the long-term, but Arteta needs someone that can make an immediate impact

The increase in his potential price is another reason why signing the Swede should be the priority.

Williams injury announcement

Though Athletic Club need their big players to have any chance of navigating an impressive comeback against Manchester United in the Europa League, they will not be able to call on Williams.

That is because a club announcement has confirmed neither he nor brother Inaki have made the travelling squad for their semi-final second leg due to injury.

Regardless of the state of the tie, it is a real shame for Williams that he will not be able to play at Old Trafford given his excitement about playing there.

Having significantly struggled to impact the first leg, he certainly would have been hopeful of at least stopping an aggregate demolition especially given the frailties United have shown on home soil. For Arsenal fans wanting to watch him in action, it also comes as a blow.

However, it could serve as a warning with his inconsistencies to contribute regularly unlikely to be helped by niggling issues.
