Arsenal receive major £78m transfer boost as 'contact' continues with Eberechi Eze
Arsenal are enjoying one of their most proactive summer transfer windows in a long time as they look to unseat Liverpool in the Premier League
Arsenal's summer transfer window may not go any better than it has done as the countdown continues to the start of the Premier League season.
Last week, the Gunners' top target in the window officially joined them as Viktor Gyokeres arrived from Sporting. His arrival is a huge statement of intent from Arsenal, who are looking to reward Mikel Arteta's rebuild with silverware this season.
However, there is no suggestion that the market has shut for the Gunners at this stage, and that is reflected in the gossip surrounding the club in the media headlines. Football.london has taken a closer look at what is being said below.

Arsenal's major Rodrygo boost
According to AS, Real Madrid are starting to soften their stance on the future of Real Madrid winger Rodrygo. Previously, Xabi Alonso's side have been reluctant to negotiate a price that was lower than his valuation of £78m.
But, it is claimed that Los Blancos are now willing to listen to offers below that price point which will be seen as a boost for the Gunners. They would face strong competition to sign the Brazilian though with Liverpool, Bayern Munich, PSG and Manchester City all thought to be admiring him.
Signing Rodrygo, having spent big on Martin Zubimendi and Gyokeres this summer would be a huge statement from Arteta and the Gunners. Considering it is Real Madrid they would be negotiating with, the price could be difficult to nail down.
However, it must be remembered that Rodrygo has a preference to play on the left flank, which is fine by Arsenal considering Bukayo Saka is on the right. But, the Gunners would surely have to part ways with either Leandro Trossard or Gabriel Martinelli if they were to do a deal for the 24-year-old.

Eze contact continues
According to Fabrizio Romano in his GiveMeSport column, Arsenal remain in contact with Crystal Palace's attacking midfielder Eberechi Eze. However, there is not thought to have been any club-to-club talks at this stage.
Having not made contact with Palace, Romano understands that Arsenal will now focus their attention on outgoings to make room for a potential bid for Eze in the future.
A move for Eze this summer is exactly the sort of business that Arsenal should be doing. He has proven Premier League experience, has shown the sort of asset he can be at international level and he would certainly strengthen the squad at the Emirates Stadium.
Selling players is a good plan before making the move for Eze considering they do not want a bloated squad but if they can bring the England international in, that would be a tremendous piece of business.
