Premier League champions bid to end pre-season tour on a high
Liverpool vs Yokohama F Marinos LIVE!
Arne Slot’s Liverpool face J-League side Yokohama F Marinos at the Nissan Stadium in their final game of their pre-season tour of Asia. The Reds are looking to right the wrongs of their last friendly, where they were beaten 4-2 by AC Milan in Hong Kong.
Domink Szoboszlai and Cody Gakpo were on target for the Premier League champions that night, but they were dealt a counter-attacking masterclass by Massimiliano Allegri’s Milan. Noah Okafor scored a brace, while Rafael Leao and Ruben Loftus-Cheek also helped themselves to goals against a leaky Liverpool defence. Now, they embark on a new challenge, but they will be missing three key names. Joe Gomez flew home after he sustained an Achilles injury, while Luis Diaz was given permission to seal a transfer to Bayern Munich.
On Tuesday, first-choice goalkeeper Alisson Becker flew home to deal with a personal issue and he will play not part here. As a result, Giorgi Mamardashivili steps in between the sticks. Latest arrival Hugo Ekitike will his debut after his move from Eintracht Frankfurt. Stay tuned for all the updates with our live blog below!

Liverpool's pre-season plans
Liverpool end their pre-season tour of Asia against Yokohama FM this afternoon.
They then travel back to the UK for a double header of friendlies against Athletic Club next Monday.
The Community Shield against Crystal Palace is then the following weekend before the Reds begin their Premier League campaign at home to Bournemouth on Friday 15, August.
Game to go ahead despite tsunami warnings
This afternoon’s game was at risk of not taking place due to mass tsunami warnings across Japan.
The tsunami warnings followed the world's biggest earthquake in 14 years.
The earthquake, which reached a magnitude of 8.8, was the sixth strongest earthquake ever measured.
Despite the warnings, the game will go ahead, with a sell-out crowd expected at the Nissan Stadium.

Ekitike makes debut
Hugo Ekitike has been handed his Liverpool debut this afternoon against Yokohama FM.
The £69m man leads the line for the Reds, who are looking to bounce back from their 4-2 defeat to AC Milan in their last pre-season game.
With all the talk of a Liverpool bid for Newcastle striker Alexander Isak, it feels like Ekitike needs to hit the ground running.

Mac Allister "feeling good" after returning to training
Alexis Mac Allister says he’s “feeling good” after returning to training with Liverpool on their pre-season tour.
Mac Allister missed the Reds’ final two games of last season and has not featured yet in pre-season.
The Argentinian midfielder won’t be ready for this afternoon’s game, but said he hopes to be back playing before the start of the Premier League season.
“It has been a long time, a difficult time because it is never nice to be injured,” Mac Allister said.
“But now I’m feeling good, it’s just about time and getting fit because they have had a good pre-season so they are definitely in a different physical shape, so I have to get used (to it) again. But it’s nice to be out there.
“It’s hard to explain (the injury) because it’s not just one spot that you say, ‘OK, we have to focus on this.’ It’s like two or three different things that I’ve been struggling (with) for a couple of months.
“At the end, we found the solution; we have been working a lot in the gym, on my structure. It’s hard to explain it but as I said, now I’m feeling good and for me that’s the most important thing.
“As I said, I need to work on my physical shape and get used again to the level of the boys.
“But I’m feeling really, really good, training with the team and I’m pretty sure I’m going to be fine for the beginning of the season and hopefully for the (Community Shield) as well.”
Diaz departure to pave the way for Isak move
Luis Diaz’s £65.5 million move to Bayern Munich is set to free up Liverpool to intensify their interest in Newcastle striker Alexander Isak.
Standard Sport reported last week that Isak had asked to skip Newcastle’s pre-season tour in order to explore a move away from St James’ Park amid swirling speculation from Liverpool.
The Anfield club are now preparing their first bid for the player, having already agreed personal terms.
Liverpool vs Yokohama FM prediction
Defensively, Liverpool struggled against Milan as all four goals that were conceded came in transition. Slot’s side will not be facing the same standard of quality and will be expected to win convincingly.
Yokohama FM’s domestic struggles means they are relegation battle, with the upcoming clash against Tokyo Verdy arguably of greater importance.
Still, it should be an entertaining friendly with the Premier League champions flexing their superiority.
Liverpool to win, 4-1.
