Reports: Arteta not facing sack if Arsenal go trophyless this season
Reports: Arteta not facing sack if Arsenal go trophyless this season
Ben Jacobs has claimed that Mikel Arteta’s future at Arsenal is not directly tied to winning silverware this campaign.
The Gunners’ last major success came with the FA Cup in 2019/20, but despite the ongoing wait, Arteta is not under immediate pressure to end the drought. Instead, sporting director Andrea Berta is expected to carry out a full review at the end of the season to assess whether the Spaniard has maximized the squad and resources available.
Arsenal have finished runners-up in the Premier League for three years running, raising hopes that this could be the season they finally clinch their first league crown since the famous Invincibles of 2003/04.
Arteta himself remains optimistic, recently stating: “We are very lucky players prefer to go to Arsenal than somewhere else.”
