Arsenal sent Bukayo Saka transfer warning as Real Madrid eye potential £130m switch
Bukayo Saka has developed into one of the best forwards in the Premier League and has even been tipped to make a £130million move to Real Madrid in the future following his recent return from injury
Arsenal have been alerted to the possibility of Real Madrid setting their sights on Bukayo Saka, with a blockbuster £130million move being mooted. The homegrown talent has risen through the ranks to become one of the Premier League's most impressive wide men.
Saka's goalscoring prowess is evident as he's hit double digits in each of the last five seasons. Despite an injury-hampered current season, the 23-year old-still boasts a 11-goal tally.
Following his stellar comeback from a lengthy hamstring setback, marked by netting a goal against Real Madrid in the Champions League at the Bernabeu, pundit Owen Hargreaves suspects the Spanish giants might start showing keen interest.
On the Vibe with Five podcast alongside Rio Ferdinand, Hargreaves said: "That goal from Saka, the football was beautiful. He starts wide and drifts in. He knew what was coming, instinctive.
“What’s amazing is that Saka played like that after being out for so long. That’s hard when you’ve been out of the game with a big injury like that.
“I reckon after that – Arsenal won’t want to hear this – Real Madrid will be looking at him, thinking ‘he can play for us’. He still has a lot of work to do at Arsenal for three or four years – win the Premier League.
“Look at Trent. Won the league, won the Champions League, 27, [same age as] when Cristiano Ronaldo left [Man Utd for Real].”
Saka, who still has just over two years left on his current contract with Arsenal, could command a hefty fee should the Gunners decide to part ways with their star forward. When asked about the potential cost, Hargreaves speculated that Real Madrid might have to shell out around £130million for the England international.
Spanish media reports suggest that Madrid already have their sights set on Saka and could be prepared to fork out up to £103million to secure his services. If he does make the switch to the Bernabeu, it could lead to an uncomfortable reunion with Dani Carvajal.
The duo had a heated exchange during half-time of Arsenal's recent victory in Spain, with Carvajal grabbing Saka by the neck before a fiery confrontation ensued. Arsenal substitute Ben White stepped in to defuse the situation, with Saka then pushing Carvajal away as both teams headed into the tunnel for the half-time break.
